Ron Mueck Exhibit at the Brooklyn Museum

The Brooklyn Museum is exhibiting the artist Ron Mueck until February 4th, which includes 5 new major pieces.
This incredible artist works in silicon to create hyper-realistic sculptures that are incredibly expressive and with a clever play on scale. This Australian artist started his career creating puppets for children’s shows, including the Jim Henson “Sesame Street.” Mueck began pursuing his art fulltime just over a decade ago.
I personally think his sculptures are absolutely incredible! I would love an opportunity to see his work up close and encourage anyone who has a chance to see his work at the Brooklyn Museum.

So impressive! So Incredible! The moment in a flash becomes eternality. One grain of sand also shows an entire world. Thanks for sharing, Aaron!

I saw this enormous thing at Venice Biennale, years ago and there was even more weird stuff. As an academic painter I couldnt call this thing “art”, but definitely it is an achievement of modern technique to make such a huge absolute copy. This is not what art is about and also animation can be quite boring if you just compete with the nature. Be creative, use what you have seen and develop it into a new form of expression.

How could you not call this art? It is sculpture, which is art. Would you call Michaelangelo’s David not art?
